I heart Baghdaddios (Bag-Dad-ee-oze) because this humble band has lots of great things to offer hope for one through Blank Fest they offer Blankets to help the homeless, through their involvement with Indie To Death they are determined to tell the world to support their Independant Artist's their very drive and determination to support their causes is an inspiration to the world. Kenn Rowell has a new Solo Project comming up soon and Baghdaddios have just released two Albums. They have a hilariously funny April Fools joke to all their fans on their myspace page and they say Baghdaddios released their new album this year called My Ass In Two Parts on Never Gonna Get it Signed Records when I read their April fools joke I almost fell off my chair laughing. This band is upbeat and postitive it was an honour to interview Kenn and we hope to have him back for a follow up to talk about Blank Fest 2008.

A Little About Baghdaddios

Actually, the band's name is The Baghdaddios (pronounced "Bag-Dad-EE-Oze"). We're out of NYC (I live in Brooklyn - the others, elsewhere!) and our MySpace page is at www.myspace.com/thebaghdaddios. "Indie To The Death!" (with an exclamation point!) is our Trademarked slogan - it's gotten to the point that some younger bands out there are describing their actual style as "Indie To The Death!" - so we're a bit flattered by that! You can thank the internet for that development.

We're involved in a LOT of what we feel are worthy causes. In addition to being indie artist activists (hence the posters and public service messages!) we also have founded our own benefit concert which has now spread to 5 cities across three countries since 1997. It's called Blank-Fest (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blank-Fest) and we feel VERY strongly about that cause - for throwing down for the homeless.

On top of that we toured England last year, played in Austin, TX during South By Southwest and played Canada's North By Northeast two years ago. We also had our first Blank-Fest Canada last December in Guelph and are looking forward to the 2nd annual installment to the concert - this time at Toronto's el Mocambo.

Finally, the band has taken it's first extended break in their 15-plus year history while we all worked on solo projects (I have a solo album coming out early next year) - but in the meantime we're already booked to play NYC's M.E.A.N.Y.Fest (Musicians and Emerging Artists of New York Festival) and the NYC Marathon. Plus we have all the Blank-Fest shows to coordinate so The Baghdaddios are still out there, clawing away at the indie scene and hopefully helping to make a positive difference!
